Internet Users Over-Charged By Service Providers
|
They Fail To Inform Of New and Cheaper Packages
Internet service providers are deliberately failing to inform existing customers of updated, better but less expensive connection packages.
The ISP’s often make no effort to inform their existing customers that they could be saving hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars a year.
“It’s a version of Buyer Beware! The ISP’s know that most people are too busy or assume that the ISP has kept them abreast of new and better deals. We’ve found many of our business clients have been quite shocked when we’ve shown them their supplier has got much better, less expensive deals,” Sutherland based IT Consultancy Motive IT director, Mike Andrew, says.
“Most businesses, if their service is working well, don’t think to go and check to see if there are better options. Because of competition in the market place, ISP companies are forever dropping prices, repacking their services, faster services and better connections.
“One truck repair company had been signed up for three different internet plans. They were paying $300 a month for a remote service, $1,000.00 a month for email hosting by a second company and on top of that, $30 a month for dial-up connection for the internet. On top of all of that, they had paid $1,000 for a Cisco router that they didn’t need.”
Mr. Andrew went in and assessed their needs, discussed with the company what it felt it required, and was able to put together a deal delivering the same set of services for just $130 a month.
“We would estimate that more than 80% of business internet users, and private users as well, are paying far more than they should.”
Another problem that businesses face with Internet Service Providers is the inability of the major providers to assist businesses with computer networks in place.
“They are either unable or unwilling to help. They’ll confirm the system is working at their end. But even sometimes when it’s not. They will go to the business’s wall. But inside, they don’t want to know because they fear being held responsible for any side affects to making any changes internally that may be required.”

Motive IT is expert at relieving you of the problems, time and excessive costs of running your computer system.
It’s our competitive advantage:
Through a combination of our technical expertise, variety of clients and years of experience, we take the time to learn about the customer’s business and it’s individual needs.
We then bring a solution to your problems that is designed specifically for your business, taking into account the need to standardise the way in which your business is supported.
Our approach is to take ownership of the problem and let you get on with doing what you do best.
We then assess where the problems lie and work with you and the various suppliers to find a solution that is cost efficient and works for everyone in your business.
We believe that almost all our competitors, generally, pin the blame on someone else and leave the customer to sort out the solution.
We look for the most cost effective way to provide maintenance and an ongoing support agreement to our customers. Our competitors generally charge more for labour per hour and on-going maintenance.
We offer Managed Internet services where competitors leave that to the ISPs.
