Our capabilities

Motive IT directors and staff are not only technically highly qualified but have many years experience in IT client support across a range of industries.

Mike Andrew – Director, Motive IT.

Mike Andrew has been involved in the computer and technology industries for more than twenty years.

His role with Motive IT includes developing the key partnerships with hardware, software and service providers to provide the customer base with top-level business solutions that can bring cost and manpower efficiencies to maximise their profitability.

He also manages the sales and marketing area of the company driving the growth of customer base and expanding services to existing clients.

Mike also spends increasing amounts of time working with customers to help improve their systems and identifying key areas where either new technology, or further training in existing systems can provide better efficiencies.

Mike started in the UK in the retail electrical industry.

“I learned very early that customer service is the most important facet of business. After computers came to the masses in 1983 through Apple, Sinclair, Commodore and Amstrad, valuable experience was gained in the selling of the first affordable PCs to small businesses.

After many years in Retail Electrical, Mike moved to Australia in 1991 and became involved in the motor trade through spare parts, then managing a Marketing/Buying group in the Automotive Smash Repair industry and moved into Software for the industry in 1999. He has now been involved with the automotive industry for over 15 years.

He worked for a Melbourne-based software house dealing with the many disparate people in Hardware, Software, Systems and other suppliers.

Mike became increasingly dissatisfied with the need to pass the problem on to the others only for the problem to be passed around – and rarely solved.

He decided to put together a company that could give the service that people so craved and take over dealing with the other computer companies to give the customer the ‘One Stop’ experience that the industry so lacked.

He has worked closely with clients in the medical, manufacturing and service related industries showing them new ways to utilize the advancements in technology to give them the competitive edge they required.

“With the introduction of Windows-based thin client technology it became very clear to me that remote connectivity was now going to be a major part of how we do business today,” Mike explained.

“Coupled with wireless, mobile and high speed internet the ability for users to now access their information from any location has become a realistic reality”.

Motive IT’s primary aim is to show business and their users how flexible and easy computing can be.

“It’s about keeping it simple and safe so owners, management and staff don’t have to worry about their I.T requirements”. Thanks to the technology available today sites can be supported remotely, more frequently and problems solved in a fraction of the time they used to”.

Instead of blame shifting, Motive IT believes in problem ownership and finding the solution to the problem when everyone else is looking for a way to drop the problem, and the customer. "I still believe, more than ever, the Customer is King”.
